Times being what they are, we figured is was time to let the Nickel Bike AKA the Hogslayer go down the road.

We built it as a display for our parts and accessories and there are too many bikes in the garageĀ  right now.

I’ve been so busy lately that posting stuff here has been my last priority; apologies to anyone who cares.

Last weekend I went to Fort Lauderdale to attend a collector car auction and once again I remembered why I abandoned the collector cars and turned to bikes. Why you ask? Well even if you didn’t, I’m going to tell you anyway.


A. You need a lot of money to buy fancy cars

B. You need a big garage to store fancy cars

C. You need a lot of money to maintain fancy cars

Even pricey bikes don’t reach into the rareified air of car guys. You can have a collection of most all of the important Triumph, BSA and Norton bikes for the price of a semi-important Ferrari. And afford to have a big enough garage to keep them in.

A friend of mine bought the Jag above and has enough cash to have a proper garage to keep it in. (along with a nice Brit bike collection and other cars too). I guess this is why you’re supposed to go to college and pay attention in school and eat all your vegetables and not make Diane next door pregnant when she’s 16 and stuff like that. So you can enjoy old creaky cars and bikes when you get to be my age.

I spent most of my youth spending money on old cars and booze and women; the rest I wasted.

Not sure where I was going with this but I figured a post was overdue. It’s bloody cold here in New England (Al Gore could not be reached for comment) so I should be getting some work done on the projects in the garage, except its too damn cold in the garage to work.

When I grow up I’m going to have a nice garage.
