Yellow Norton 750

Dedicated to the world of British Motorcycling, for better or worse.

Mostly to let the rest of the world in on what we’re about.

The main focus is Norton Commando motorcycles and the people who ride them.

Any comments, questions or snide remarks ? I mean after all, isn’t ironic we’re trying to perfect an obsolete brand of motorcyle?

As I sit in the boardroom of our luxurious corporate headquarters, I am pondering the state of our vintage bike economy. Currently I am pleased with current events as things seem to be chugging along quite nicely, thank you very much. Much of our business comes from across the great shining water due to the current state of monetary exchange. Rather than rail at the disparity of the worth of the dollar I rejoice at the business it brings from other places. The “gloom and doom” mongers in the motorcycle business (and others) are either wringing their hands while cursing the darkness or are reserving their place on the window ledge waiting for their turn to leap into the abyss. The great American motorcycle monolith known for their avoirdupois and chrome has even shut the gates temporarily to avoid over supply. Those who are too invested in the status quo will not survive. The current rate of change is overwhelming to the giants of industry in the US ; and GM comes to mind. They finally saw the writing on the wall, and even with the rudder to the stops it was unable to turn fast enough and far enough to avoid the reefs. Toyota has risen to the sales podium and yet, they have some serious problems to face.
But I digress, we were after all talking about leaky old motorcycles were we not? The nub of this entry I guess is that I am thankful that a new generation of gearheads is out there fettling these old bikes, and I’m just trying to figure out where I fit in all of this.

    Oh Cyril, more cappucino please………..
